Purchase: I purchased my Centennial 10 years ago, from The Surrey in Potomac, Maryland. At the time in 1996 I paid 1200.00. Which was a good price because the only saddles that I found that were comparable to the quality and feel were the Hermes, Butet and Stackhouse, all three were over double the cost of the Centennial.
Likes: I love my saddle, not only has it held up beautifully, it has reasonably fit every horse I have put it on. At times I have ridden between 6-10 horses per day. Over the years the color has mellowed from the "orange" to a beautiful red/brown. So that it looks good on every horse. I love my stirrup leather slits! they keep the excess leather neat and tidy. Not only do I love my saddle, everyone who has ridden in my saddle loves it, and there are about 15 Centennial owners out there who have bought the saddle because of my input, and love their saddles. It just throws you into the correct position from day one.
Dislikes: NOTHING!!!!!!
Quality: After 10 years, and a lot of riding, my saddle is still in beautiful condition, ready to go at least another 10 years. The stuffing is still in good shape, and the leather is supple and strong.
Summary: Bottom line, I highly recommend this saddle to everyone, the varieties allow everyone to get a perfect fit. It is balanced and gives you a deep secure seat, without sticking you to the saddle, we have shown the saddle in all disciplines, hunter, jumper and the Eq's.
