Purchase: I first saw this pad at a booth at Washington International Horse Show. They were demonstrating the shock absorption abilities of this pad by having people throw golf balls at them (they didn't bounce!), which was impressive but I didn't buy one, thinking they were too expensive.
I went on to borrow one from a friend when my horse was recovering from a sore back. I couldn't believe how much more willing my horse was to "frame up" and really use her back in work. Speaking of backs, I was able to jump a 3' course without MY back getting sore (a problem for this 40+ equestrian)!
I finally bought the Thinline Half Pad for $89 from the manufacturer's website (thinlinepads.com) and LOVE the pad! I would never use anything else--for shows I use it under the proper fitted English pad.
Likes: The comfort level for horse and rider is unparalleled.
Dislikes: I wish the Thinlines came in white (the ultra thinline model does, but not the regular thinline, which is better for people with bad backs).
Quality: Excellent, seems like it'll last forever.
Summary: I highly recommend this pad to anyone who loves their horse and wants them to be more comfortable. It is well worth the money.
