Purchase: I bought this bridle from the Beval store in New Canaan, CT, three years ago. I purchased it for my 16.3 Thoroughbred, and it was almost 200 dollars with reins. It is a horse size.
Likes: The leather is good-quality, and supple; in three years it has been in the mud, rain, sleet, extreme cold and heat, and it has just broken in more. It is very adjustable - with a few extra holes it has fit a 15.2 hand Morgan, a 16.3 hand Thoroughbred, and a 17 hand Warmblood. The nose-padding on the figure-8 is very good sheepskin, and the stitching is still like new.
Dislikes: After so much rough use, the straps that the buckles attatch to have aquired deep marks, but the strength of the leather doesn't seem comprimised.
Quality: It is made of dark havana leather with off-white stitching, and the quality is excelent. The buckles are stainless steel and have held up very well.
Summary: I would recommend this bridle to anyone who needs a bridle pretty enough to show in, but tough enough to withstand strenuous conditions. The price, although steep, is well-worth it.
