Purchase: I have purchased 2 Merrill saddles. One direct, made to order, about 1 1/2 years ago. The other I just recently purchased was lightly used (less than 10 rides). I purchased a used Merrill only because of the 4-6 month wait for a custom saddle. Both were $1600.
Likes: I really like how even with your first ride these saddles feel like you've ridden in them forever. They are the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in. They have fit every horse I have put them on.
Dislikes: My one complaint - Both saddles have lost a concho in the exact same spot. I have been in contact with the company and am trying to get replacements. I have owned some of my saddles for over 15 years and have never lost a concho - it has been frustrating. The company says that the are correcting the problem.
Quality: These saddles are beautifully done and of very high quality.
Summary: I will probably never buy another brand of barrel saddle again.
