Purchase: I purchased my first set of Elite Sport Boots when the ads first appeared. I decided to try them because of the less bulk and close contact fit. At the time they also had the free ballistic over-reach boot offer. I paid 79.00.
Likes: I really like how these boots fit my horses. There is very little overlap of material. They are quick and easy to apply correctly. They also have so many cool colors to choose from. Most of the local farm stores in our area are now making them available at reasonable prices.
Dislikes: There is not much to dislike about the way these boots fit. I am disappointed, however, in the length of time I have had my boots and how they are wearing.
Quality: The original pair I bought I had less than one month, only used them on one horse, and used the about 5 times per week. I had to return them because the stitching was letting loose on the binding. The tack shop was great - gave me a new pair. The pair I got in exchange did not last a whole lot longer. I now have had the about a year, with the same amount of usage, and the binding is almost off (mainly on the suspensory strap), the velcro stitching is letting loose so that the strap is pulling off the boot, and one of the suspensory velcro straps have torn in half lengthwise. I have contacted the company and they have informed me of their repair costs. This pair of boots are black - they say that most of their repairs are on black and recommended I try a different color. I have a friend who has the same problems with hers and they are black also.
Summary: I will not purchase these boots again and am disappointed in they quality for the price that I paid. I will probably go back to the SMB II - they lasted me 4 years - 2 horses - and many more rides than the Elites!
