Purchase: I bought this girth at State Line Tack for $45. I wanted a girth to match my new Kincade close-contact saddle, and I couldn't afford to spend a ton on a girth.
Likes: I like the color of this girth and the way it perfectly matches the color of the Kincade saddle. It also has Kincade's trademark off-white contrast stitching, which adds a nice look. The girth has roller buckles, which reduce wear on the billets, and they have not rusted. The elastic and stitching are well-made and of good quality. The girth is tapered to prevent chafing, and so far my horse hasn't gotten any sores or girth galls from it. The leather is soft and doesn't feel like cardboard like some low-price leather tack does, and it's pliable and not too thick. This girth is perfectly acceptable for the small shows I do, and it has held up very well to all the riding I've done in the year and a half that I've owned it.
Dislikes: When I first got this girth and the saddle, they were both very stiff and it was hard to buckle the girth. Since then, the leather has gotten softer but the girth and billets have both stretched a lot. The girth used to be on the last hole on both sides, but it has stretched so much that now it's on the top hole on both sides. I would also like if the girth had elastic on both sides.
Quality: The girth is made out of pliable sable brown leather with off-white stitching. It has stainless steel heavy-duty roller buckles and a strong elastic end. It is tapered to prevent chafing. It's held up well so far.
Summary: This girth is a great buy. I would recommend it to anyone who is buying tack but doesn't want to spend a ton of money on it.
