Purchase: I paid $50 used for this bridle on a classified. I needed a new bridle for schooling shows, and hoped that this one would work.
Likes: I like the bridle, especially for the price. The leather is stamped "Made in Walsall England" and is definitely nice supple leather, not cheap stiff leather. Excellent quality for the price. The stitching is very nice, and I love the detail on the side of the bit hooks. The padding is nice also, and the leather oils very nicely. I had a few scratches on the bridle from rough handling, but they oiled out very well. Seems true to size, and looks very nice. I will probably do more than just schooling shows in this bridle.
Dislikes: I wish I could find reins that matched a little better, but nothing wrong with the bridle itself. Just doesn't seem to be a common color. You can hardly tell the difference, but up close it's there.
I also would have liked fancy stitching. Not a dislike, but would have been an extra plus! Isn't Arc de Triomphe leather, but not cheapo stuff either.
Quality: Excellent heavy duty construction without a bulky look. Very refined looking bridle, cleans up and oils nicely, and all stitching has remained intact.
Summary: Very nice bridle, well worth the price if you don't want an everyday bridle that will cost you $400. I think this bridle is $200 new, and worth it. I don't think I'll have a problem showing in this bridle, even though I initially intended to use it as a schooling/ schooling show bridle. I would give this a 4.5, but not an option, so it's a 5. Overall I am very happy with it.
