Likes: Fantastic for gravel, possible glass on trails (yahooing kids tossing out beer bottles), and to keep the hooves from ever having a farriers shoe on them.
Can add studs for winter riding!
Great for long distance trailering!
Dislikes: I thought that these things would be great for an older person like me. Problem is...if you happen to have some extra weight in your midsection you'll find this product a tad difficult to strap up. You will have to practically sit on the ground as you slip the straps around and fasten snuggly.
I really didn't like the strapping system.
I also found that the measuring of them wasn't quite right. Even though I followed the directions the boot is way too big, along with the straps (using duck tape now!)
My girl has wide feet but short in length.
Once you buy them and try them on, you can't return them! Sheesh!
Quality: Awesome construction and quality! Will wear for a few years of normal pleasure trails!
They look like tire treaded hiking boots with a nylon protective covering.
Nylon/velcro straps.
Studs can be added for winter riding!
Summary: Definitely better than the iron shoes (unless you show, as I believe they are not allowed in shows, and probably not good for jumping, they do have some weight)
Would I buy them again knowing what I know now? Yup! If I had no other option in 'barefoot boots'
I still use the one pair, just takes ME forever to strap them because of the misfitting and my tummy in the way!
