Purchase: I bought this saddle for my husband on e-bay for 600.00 including shipping. Have a hard time finding 17 inch seat trail saddle and like treeless saddles for trail.
Likes: I liked the price and the fact it was treeless so I bought it without really looking at ratings and opinions about this saddle maker.
Dislikes: The cantle and pommel are crooked so when you sit in the middle of it, the pommel is 1 off to your side so much the horn is in front of your left hand! I wrote to the maker the day I received and several times after that and they would not respond at all. Did not honor their return policy as stated in E-bay.
I have seen two other Hiaason saddles that are the same way. There is a knot of thick leather under the upper fender where the leather was not shaved down and it is wearing out after 3 rides in it.
Quality: It is constructed of cheap thick leather that is not pliable at all. The nylon billets and stirrup straps are thin cheap nylon and the stitching is coming loose already. the horn is glued together instead of stitched. In looking underneath the riggings, it is stitched with huge stitched and glued in a lot of places where it should be stitched.
Summary: I would not recommend this saddle to anyone. I would not even try to sell or remake this saddle as the leather and all the components are cheap quality materials. If you are looking for a treeless, try any other brand than this! the saddle maker is trying to get away with selling quantity and not quality. not a trustworthy saddle to trail ride in.
