Purchase: I purchased this mask directly from Cashel Company, for approx. $29.00. I needed something very sturdy and well-fitting for my mare who has very sensitive eyes. Since I board and cannot be there everyday, I needed a mask that would hold up and stay on without causing the barn help a lot of maintenance.
Likes: Great mask! Easy to take on and off, and my mare seems to like it. The little hole for her forelock to come thru help it stay on very securely. I had minimal issues with it staying on -except for a very aggressively playful pasture buddy who would try to take it off. I don't think my horse ever bothered it herself. The ear covering were roomy, I feel she was very well protected.
Dislikes: My mare has a very refined, short face, and the nose extension was way too long for her. I was able to customize it by hemming it up to fit her, and it went thru the whole fly season fine. Some minor wear and tear, but I'm expecting it to get me all the way thru this year.
Quality: Extremely sturdy. Good strong velcro.
Summary: Worth every penny, and even the trouble of hemming it (I would even buy a long nose again, because it really does keep the flies off of her nose -I feel like her entire face is protected and comfortable.
