Purchase: I purchased these half chaps/leggings on eBay for $37.50. Great deal, considering they are in Dover's catalogue selling for $179.90.
I had admired the close fit, and adhered EXPLICITLY to the Tredstone website measuring directions.
Likes: They are sleek looking and the perfect color match to my steel toed Chillmaster paddock boots,( a top quality boot that I can wear all day teaching Therapeutic Riding).
They are professional looking and quality material.
They do not bunch or catch under the skirt of the saddle.
Dislikes: The chaps are extremely difficult to zip over paddock boots, and(I feel) are too short. As I stated, I measured from back of knee to ankle,(as Tredstep recommended). Another inch taller would have been far more attractive. Had I not already worn them, Tredstep would have exchanged them, which is terrific public relations for the company calf measurement is one thing-bulk of paddock boots an entirely different consideration.
Quality: The chaps are of beautiful stretch leather, very light-and tight- on your leg.
Zipper from bottom to top. With a lot of exertion, you can zip them up.
Will not stretch as my old suede velcro
half chaps and would soon become way too large.
Summary: The chaps would be fantastic, if Tredstep was more accurate in the size chart.
I love the close contact feel.
If they fit properly, I might even pay full price.
