Purchase: What can I say, I love these bridles:-). I've bought them from several different retailers (lots of tack stores carry them), with prices ranging from $120 (US) for the 3000 (split crown model) to $220 (US) for the 191 with pretty brass buckles (my favorite!). I think the best prices I found in Ireland (even with shipping to Canada they were still quite a bit less expensive than buying here).
Likes: Leather quality and workmanship is awesome! These bridles last forever, and stay looking show quality even if used every day... definitely hold up better than the softer English or Italian leathers. The finish does not dull with age, like cheaper bridles too. They are middle of the road as price for quality bridles go, but there is nothing that I like in the more expensive bridles to warrant spending $400 or so (ouch) on other brands. Sizing is very adjustable, and true to expected sizes in all that I've tried (cob, horse and WB). Horse size has actually also fit my girls who normally wear cob and WB, so nice adjustablity. The padded models are not as cushy softly padded as some manufacturers, but lasts better.
Dislikes: The 3000 split crown model became a bit annoying after a couple of years when the browband loops loosen, so the throatlatch piece would bubble up on top of the crown when riding.
Noteable also that Stubben's havanna color is a reddish brown. Their darker brown is called ebony.
Quality: Excellent quality... after years of using these bridles they clean up perfectly for showing, no cracking, no stretching of the holes, no loose stitching, quality leather. Really worth the price!
Summary: Nothing like Stubben bridles :-), great quality for the price.
