Purchase: I ordered these online from Salem Saddlery and paid $84.95, shipping was over $10 too!
Likes: I normally like to wear chaps when riding for extra grip. Also as not to scuzz up my field boots. I liked that I could wear my jod boots and the half chaps. These have a nice elastic section and that is why I bought these over the other types out there with just velcro.
Half chaps give you the extra grip you need in the leg, and the elastic gives a better fit.
Dislikes: I wore these all winter over my fleece breeches and Mountain Horse winter Jods. I was happy that the elastic stretched over such a big boot, however, when the weather got nice and I didn't need the MH winter boots anymore, I realized that the elastic did over-stretch a bit.
Quality: Very well constructed. Suede with additional suede patch along the inside leg. Elastic and zipper down the outside, and a snap at the ankle. Ariat is a fine product.
Summary: I wish I would have realized that the elastic was being stretched too much, but that's my fault. They still fit nice and I would recommend them to other riders. I'm giving them a rating of a 3 though due to the elastic issue I had.
