Purchase: I found my dressage saddle over the internet used from a girl in England. The purchase price was a little less than $1000 USD but by the time I paid shipping and a little more to get the money to her even faster the total ended up around $1200. This was still WAY cheaper than buying new because the retail is $2500USD.
Likes: I love my dressage saddle! The thigh block is tailored to fit the anatomy of the leg and the seat is deep but not too deep. The leather is of excellent quality and really long wearing. The girl I bought the saddle from said she had it for a while and it still looks fabulous!
Dislikes: There isn't anything I don't like about it. If I could change something it would be perhaps pillow padding over the knee roll instead of the regular padding. That is a personal preference though since there is nothing wrong with the way it is now. I just like the squish feeling of pillow padding
Quality: The construction and quality of the unit is fabulous. The leather holds up really well while still being supple and soft. The billets are even holding up great too. The best feature of the construction is the front wither gussets. This is an extra piece of leather at the wither area that allows extra stuffing so that it contours into the wither/shoulder blade area of the horse perfectly. It was really designed with the horse's anatomy in mind.
Summary: Great saddle! Ride in one and you'll see how comfortable they are and how great they fit the horse. I finally found a dressage saddle that I will keep until the end of it's life! That will probably be a while though since the quality is so good!
