Purchase: I bought the saddle at a tack dealer locally because I was needed another saddle due to the number of horses I am riding. I paid $1300 for the saddle Spring 2005.
Likes: I really like the seat. It is deep and keeps you properly sitting in the saddle when your horse powers out of barrels. It has a drop rigging, which really helps the saddle stay in place. It has wide bars (I want to say full QH bars, but not sure on this) so it fits a larger horse with broad shoulders. It is nice to look at also. Mine has the cut out in the skirt right above the back cinch that gives a little extra dimension to it.
Dislikes: I would really like them to make a seat smaller than a 14". I really need a 13 1/2" seat and have been a little disappointed in the extra 1/2. Sharon Camarillo used to make a 13 1/2" saddle and I would like to see her make them again. I know that she has a petite that has a smaller seat available, but I think it should be an option on all her saddles.
Quality: The saddle is on a rawhide covered tree with Herman Oak leather. Nice heavy built saddle. I would rate the quality at a 9/10. If you are looking for a fancy bling bling saddle, this might not be it, but if you are wanting quality I would recommend looking into it.
Summary: I would definitely recommend a Sharon Camarillo barrel saddle to anyone who is barrel racing. If you like a smaller seat than a 14", you will have to look elsewhere or buy a petite. If she made a 13 1/2" seat in this particular saddle I would have 5 of them.
