Purchase: I bought them off Ebay.com for $230.
Likes: I liked these boots from their look, they have a window in the inside calf to "feel" the horse better, and the soles of the boots were great.
Dislikes: I hated the adventure to get these boots on. They were to tight in the ankle, and nearly impossible to get on, I had to wear special thin socks. When I did have them on, I had to loosen the ankle tie so it didn't bunch up the leather, which was really painful. The inside footbed was made out of slippery leather and my heal would come up while walking and I got huge blisters. The toe width is also to small and pinches my normal sized foot. The calf, which I ordered at a Wide was really much bigger than 16", and made me look like I had wings on my legs, and then under the knee is was too tight and would pinch your leg when in the flexed position for jumping.
Quality: Overall, the quality was mediocre with the leather not being to bad. The construction of the unit was horrible with bad design that I was not expecting from Ariat.
Summary: Bottom line, don't buy the Crownes, either spend the money for the Crowne Pros, or any other boot with zippers. It's just not worth it to struggle with these boots.
