Purchase: I have purchased two Professional's Choice Air Ride saddle pads from my local tack store. I paid about $120 for each. I got them to give my horse the best equipment I could to let him do his jobs to the best of his ability.
Likes: My horse loved the first pad that I got. He had always had a very sensitive back and could be very grumpy. He let you know if your seat was at all stiff or, heaven forbid, you bounced on him. He moved a lot freer and was less grumpy with the Air Ride. (Still didn’t like bouncing, but more forgiving on seat stiffness) When Professional Choice came out with the OrthoSport, I got one because they are made for high-withered horses and my horse definitely fit that category. I did not see a big difference, but there was some. The pads are very similar. The saddle stayed in position better with the OrthoSport. I even used my western OrthoSport with my English saddle except when I was showing. I started using the older Air Ride on my son’s barrel racer. In his first year, he was Appaloosa reserve champion in his age group. Need I say more? Since then, I sold my horse and bought a barrel racer. I seem to have a thing for very high-withered horses and this horse is no exception. He has VERY high withers. I have used the OrthoSport on him and it worked well. There are no rub marks from the saddle hitting harder in any place. I plan to get the barrel racing version for him as soon as I can.
Dislikes: I haven't found anything that I do not like about the pads.
Quality: Both saddle pads have gotten a lot of use and have held up beautifully. The stitching has finally come loose on one corner.
Summary: These saddle pads helped my very hard working all around horse keep up with showing for 3 people. He worked hard and deserved the best.
