Purchase: Bought this saddle from my local tack shop in the early 90's after my first Prix de Saute was stolen from my barn's tack room. We paid around $1000 for this German made version (the first was their English made model. I decided on the German version after being told that the leather was a better quality.
Likes: The leather is still in fantastic shape. The quality and workmanship is so much better than some of today's more popular and pricey saddles. The saddle provides an extremely close contact ride.
Dislikes: Well, I'm not a teenager like I was when I picked out this saddle, so when my new, temperamental ex-racehorse acts up, the seat of this saddle is not forgiving at all! That is all I can complain about and that's not the saddles fault.
Quality: Really just great workmanship! My sister owns a Crump Alpine saddle( also purchased in the early 90's) and we are just so pleased with the quality and durability of both of our Crump saddles and other equipment made by them.
Summary: This is a really great saddle for someone who needs a true close contact saddle. I can't say enough about the quality and durability, especially when compared to some expensive saddles made today that start falling apart after a year.
