Purchase: I bought these breeches off Ebay, thinking that they were a darker color than they actually are. I paid $115 plus sh. Regularly these breeches are upward of $300.
Likes: I was going to send them back because they were very dressage looking and I was not going to be able to use them to show in. Yes I realize that GD is a dressage company, but in tan who would have known except me? One day I ended up with all my breeches at the DC and was forced to wear these...so much for returning them!!! It turned out that I loved them and have used them for schooling ever since!
Dislikes: I know the high v-cut waist band is a dressage thing, and they can have it in my opinion. It looks funny, I always hide it under my shirt, but is not uncomfortable. That is the only fault that I can find and its not really a fault just my personal opinion.
Quality: The GD longs are 1-2" longer than most breeches, which is great for me. These breeches fit a little loser through the hips than most but are not baggy. Even though the breeches are the lightest cream color they don't get dirty!! The fabric seems to shed dirt! The breeches are sturdily constructed and the fabric is substantial. The suede (deerskin??) on the seat is buttery soft, it really is amazing. It is much softer and more supple than the patches on my tailored sportsman breeches. I love the grip on the saddle, I can sit the most atrocious trot in these!
Summary: If you ride dressage these are probably great breeches for you! If you get a deal on them like I did they are worth it for schooling too. For my fellow stork-like, long-legged riders, they are EXTRA long too!!
