Purchase: I purchased my fuchsia Troxel Helmet from Circle A saddlery in Whittemore, MI. Previously I owned a very old helmet that was starting to look ratty. This tack store had placed an add in the paper that it was having a sale. Since I had a few things on my list to purchase, I decided I would stop in and see what they had. There I found the perfect looking helmet. The price came to approximately $30.00. I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to have such a bright helmet.
Likes: I like this helmet because of it's awesome color and because there it has a lot of opportunity for adjustment. It is also light and fairly breezy so your head doesn't roast in the hot sun.
Dislikes: The problem with this helmet is you have to be careful you do not adjust it too tight, because it seems to give headaches. The other minor problem is I usually like to wear my hair in a pony tail when I ride and this helmet does not leave room to do so. The adjustment assembly sits right where a pony tail would.
Quality: The helmet does seem to be made well. I usually end up dropping things often, and the helmet has been holding up well. It has a removable brim and a mesh liner. It also has a fair amount of cushion.
Summary: I really like my helmet, but I wish it had room for a pony tail. I don't know that I would recommend this helmet to someone looking unless you were able to borrow and try one on first to assure that it will not give you too much of a headache.
