Purchase: I purchased this January 2006, online from Schneiders, sstack.com. I wanted a durable sheet for protection against the elements and thought this one would work. I bought a lightweight blanket that's similar a couple of years ago and it has really held up. I paid $59.95 plus shipping.
Likes: It weighs more than a regular sheet and it can be used as a top layer with another blanket or liner. It comes in purple and black which makes it easy to see from a distance. Important as my horse is in a 17 acre field and can get about a 1/2 mile away from my kitchen window. The purple can be seen even in a snow storm, which we can get in April or even as late as May in South Dakota, and it gives me peace of mind when I can see him.
Dislikes: So far, I haven't found anything to dislike about this sheet.
Quality: This is a heavyweight, 1200 denier, breathable, waterproof, and windproof turnout sheet that is lined with nylon. Most sheets of this quality and weight cost much more, so this is a great value. The fit is secure with a high neck, front buckles, two belly surcingles and elastic leg straps. It also has a tail cover and gussets which enables the horse to move freely and not bind in the chest. The material even withstood my other ornery gelding's biting it hard and pulling on it. I thought for sure it would tear, but it didn't.
Summary: I really am glad I bought this sheet. I think I got a lot for my money and I like buying from Schneiders because you can build up credit for future purchases and their website is uncomplicated and easy to use.
