Purchase: My trainer used this bridle on my horse and I took note if it. His was 5 yrs old. I bought mine 2005 from the Kenny Harlow site. $37.00 each without bit I recall.
Likes: The brown one is very nice. Though not as supple and soft as my trainers, I later compared them and noted that the leather was a tide thicker , but still for the money a great bridle. The rings and buckles are excellent for a good fit and easy change of bits. The Black one however was of poor quality. The leather was stiff and thick. I returned it for a exchange for another of the brown that I will have dyed black.
Dislikes: the side rings can be too high or too low on a horse. Since the rings do not slide as with a traditional bridle they are set as is. Unlike the mule type bridle made much the same , these lack the Pole buckle therefor no adjustment if the bridle browband sits too low or too high.
As mentioned before the black bridle was of lower quality leather and quit thick on the sewn overlaps, possibility of wear on long rides is very high therefor on your horses face.
Quality: Brown is good quality for the money, however I do feel my trainers of the older version to be of higher quality leather. The Black was of different and thicker stiffer leather.
I would love to see this bridle in stainless steel hardware rather than brass, and would be willing to pay more happily.
Summary: For the cheap price is a good value. There is a stamp on the pole leather piece but that is all. It is a good working all around wear em out wear em hard type of bridle. I am happy with mine. It does what I need in a bridle just fine.
