Category: Dressage Saddles
Purchase: I acquired this saddle on e-bay for $900.00 - much less than the $1,900 I have seen it for in a tack store. It was about a year old when I purchased it, and have been riding in it for about a year.
Likes: It has an extra-deep seat and large thigh blocks to keep you in a good position. My horse is a spinner when spooked, and this saddle has kept me from coming off several times. The saddle is slightly cut back in the shoulder area for more freedom of movement.
Dislikes: The seat is so deep, I sometimes don't lift my leg over high enough when dismounting. Probably more my fault than the saddle.
Quality: Beautifully made. It is only 2 1/2 years old, but is used about 4 times a week and shows almost no wear. The only area with slight wear is along the sides where the stirrup leathers rub. Otherwise, it is holding up well with minimal care.
Summary: Great saddle for a horse with lots of shoulder movement, and a rider that wants a deep, secure seat.
Usefulness Rating: 2.75 out of 5.
