Purchase: I bought this saddle, new, from a local tack shop for $1200. I could have gotten it cheaper online, but I wanted to be able to test ride in it before I bought. I also didn't want to bother with shipping.
Likes: This saddle is veeery comfortable. The actually seat is nicely padded with a narrow twist that keeps me in the proper, ear-shoulder-hip-heel position. This might be due to the nicely designed flaps and recessed stirrup bars. I ride with a wither relief pad under the saddle, but even without the pad, it fits my horse well and he has more forward movement than he has in the past. The pad helps it even more. With my other saddles, I've had to use breastplates and risers, as my horse is built extreeeemely uphill, and I had a severe problem with it slipping back. Even when my horse has a bucking fit now, the saddle stays right where it's supposed to. The Y-girthing system is also nice, as it distributes the pressure of the girth evenly along the saddle panels.
Dislikes: I've had this saddle for about 3 months, and the stirrup leathers have already caused rubs beneath my legs. It's not that bad, but it has worn a slight bit faster than my others have. It also took a longer time to break in. With 7 day-a-week riding, it took almost a month and a half. But it's now nice and comfortable. The easy change gullet system is also a bit harder to use than it's made out to be. But, of course, that's why it's called the easy-change and not the quick-change. Far easier to use than sending off the saddle.
Quality: The quality, besides the rubs, is exceptional. For such a well-priced saddle, I was impressed. The stitching, billets, and leather is all top-notch.
Summary: This saddle is amazing. Just as nice as the Albions or Bates of the riding world. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
