Purchase: I bought my Horizon Collections one ear, rolled ear headstall from the Big Dees catalogue for $26.95. I wanted a headstall that showcased my palomino's head. It arrived the next day!!
Likes: It is a beautiful headstall that is classy and easy to care for and It looks great on my palomino. I trail ride and still wanted the safety of a throatlatch to keep my bridle on. It has also held up to all the abuse I have given it, from rain and snow to sun and sweat, the leather is still in perfect condition.
Dislikes: I did not like how the throatlatch came down on the side without the ear, there was nothing holding the throatlatch to the headstall. This caused the throatlatch to slip back towards the neck. I modified it by putting a leather keeper on that side. This allowed the throatlatch to be correctly positioned behind the ear.
Quality: The construction and quality of this headstall are top notch. It is a working piece of equipment that would do equally well in barrel racing, reining, trail or show if you added a little silver.
Summary: I would recommend this product, I was satisfied with the durability and functionality as well as the design.
