All Purpose Saddles
Manufacturer: Courbette/Lemetex
Model: Vision AP
Category: All Purpose Saddles
Purchase: I ordered this saddle from Germany, online. I took a big chance in ordering it but I was extremely happy that I did!. This saddle now retails for close to $1700 US dollars. I found this one in Germany for $850.00, and that included shipping. talk about a deal!
Likes: My particular Vision saddle is the one with a longer flap and emphasis on dressage. I am an eventer myself and have put this saddle through its paces, using it for dressage, jumping, cross country, trails, etc. The seat is extremely well made and well balanced, allowing for movement if needed , but at the same time offering security with the correctly positioned knees rolls in front. Even jumping downhill, I still feel very secure, like I won't get left behind if my horse decides to do something silly. Awesome saddle for the flat, its position has helped get a very difficult mare more well balanced and on the bit than ever before in her life. Love the way it rides for long distanced as well. Took a 5 hour trail ride on it one time and was not a bit sore! Highly recommended. 2 of my horses have broader backs and it works for them. Also have a high withered horse, and it sits perfectly on him as well.
Dislikes: Not much I can think of that I don't like about this saddle. I don't think I would recommend it for someone jumping more than 4 feet or doing more than training level eventing due to the flap being longer and more all purposely, although there is a different model of the Vision out through State Line Tack that has a very forward flap for jumping and eventing, although I have not ridden in this one. No complaints though!
Quality: My saddle has a medium tree (31.5cm) and a Federbaum spring tree, which I love. Panels are wool flocked and very well balanced. Nice, wide gullet, even from front to back. As said before, an all purpose saddle with a longer flap for dressage tendency. Can I tell you how much I LOVE the black and dark brown leather together! The brown leather is very rich looking, almost a mahogany color. Leather is soft and of great quality.
Summary: Highly recommend this saddle for anyone wanting a saddle that they can do everything in, especially if they have an interest in dressage but don't want to give up their jumping!
