Purchase: I bought this helmet from a local tack shop for around $100. The price has since dropped, everyone who's anyone is now wearing the GPA helmets.
Likes: I remember when this was the best helmet on the market. It was lightweight and fashionable. When I got back into riding a year ago, this was the helmet I bought. I should've done my research and bought the newer, lighter weight and more fashionable GPA helmet.
Dislikes: You simply don't see non-GPA helmets in the show ring anymore. Compared to GPA helmets, the Troxel is heavy, hot, and bulky.
Quality: I used this helmet 4 days a week for 3 months. It never touched the ground, I never fell in it, and after each ride, I put it in it's box. Somehow, the snap still managed to break. Other than this, the helmet has held up well, although not nearly as durable as the new GPA helmets (if you haven't taken the hint yet, buy a GPA helmet!).
Summary: The Troxel helmet is a thing of the past!
