Purchase: Because fly season is starting, I've been looking around for a good fly mask for my horse.
I stopped by a local tack store and lo and behold, some were on sale!
Enter the 20X Breakaway Fly Mask with Ears by Professional's Choice & Wrangler, both well-respected names in the horse biz.
This fly mask looks very similar to the Farnam fly mask, with a few extra features.
I paid around $20 Cdn (suggested retail for the States is $16.95).

I recommend this fly mask to anyone who owns a horse. While the Farnam masks are okay, Pro. Choice / Wrangler built upon the idea and made an awesome product.
Where to start?... The poll is 'breakaway' meaning should the horse get tangled up, the velcro-ed poll strap breaks away, thus freeing him / her.
There are 2 straps that hold this mask on the horses head (2 throat straps) instead of the usual one. This gives the mask more room to adjust, AND -- these straps are elasticated. As the horse moves, this mask moves with him / her.
Other fly masks are bordered with fleece to stop rubs, but this company uses soft cloth-coated neoprene! Not only will it not rub the horse and leave bare marks, but it conforms to the shape of the horses head really well.
It also features soft mesh ear covers, designed to keep the flys out. The main mask is made of a larger mesh, almost identical to the Farnam mask.
Dislikes: Seems like there's a lot of velcro straps to adjust (4... 2 on the poll, 2 on the chin) but once the poll straps are adjusted for the first time, Pro. Choice / Wrangler says you don't need to adjust them again each time you use the mask on the horse.
Quality: Awesome. This type of fly mask generally holds together really well. All of the stitching is secure and even.. the velcro straps are top quality.
Summary: I had never used a Pro. Choice / Wrangler horse product before, but am thoroughly impressed with the quality and price. I will buy this make again.
