Purchase: I purchased my half chaps on eBay for about $65. I was impressed with the product when I noticed that bids for this item were very close to the asking price in major cataloges.
Likes: I love my half chaps! They fit like a dream. They are size medium tall and are great for my height - 5'8". I wear them with breeches and they fit nice and snug around my calves but not too tight. The full lenght zipper and ankle snaps make them easy to put on and take off. I also think they are cute!
Dislikes: Nothing! The elastic on my half chaps is holding up fine. I have come across other reviews that complained about the elastic giving out. I guess my only complaint is that they are getting soiled rather fast and I don't know a good way to clean suede.
Quality: The half chaps are constructed very well. The zippers and snaps are high quality and function well. The elastic on the bottom seems to be strong and holding up well to the rigors of riding. The elastic on the backside of the chaps works great! It provides a nice snug fit and keeps the chaps in place while riding.
Summary: I really enjoy the Ariat half chaps and I highly recommend them to all my fellow riders. I plan on buying another pair once these have worn out. Isn't that the best testamonial - that you plan on buying the item again in the future? Ariat make high quality riding products that have never let me down.
