Purchase: I was looking for a unique and distinctive hunt coat and did not see what I wanted in any catalog so I hooked up with Bits and Bridles. I described what I wanted and they sent me fabric swatches until I found exactly what I wanted. I paid $480.00 for the coat.
Likes: The coat is beautiful. The material is a "silky soft" wool plaid with a gorgeous liner. There is a bit of stretch to the coat for when you want to jump and release and when cantering, you can see just a flickering of the lining. It is a substantial fabric but is not heavy or hot! It needed no alterations whatsoever. It also does not wrinkle easily. It is treated with some kind of stain repellent so that water, coke( I love Coke)and dust do not stick!
Dislikes: So far, I have not found one single thing I do not like about the coat. Was a bit hesitant about spending that much for a coat, but it actually costs about what 2 or 3 cheap coats would and appears as if it will last for a long time. Be careful about the sizing, the coats do run small!
Quality: Very well made! The buttons were sewn on nice and tight and the colour was true to the fabric swatches sent to look at. Also did not take very long to have it made.
Summary: I love my new coat! It looks good with my khaki coloured breeches and has a very pressed, clean and crisp look to it. I told all my friends at the first show, "Please don't hate me because I have my new Grand Prix coat and am beautiful, darlings!" Just kidding. But I must say, for showing in Alaska....I look HOT!
