Purchase: I bought one of the Weatherbeeta heavy horse blankets at Alaska Feed in Fairbanks, Alaska for $178.00. The winters here are very, very cold and we had a cold snap of 50 below zero and needed a blanket. I needed it immediately and the local store carried them.
Likes: Totally awesome blanket. Nice and heavy, as advertised with good buckles....easy to put on in frigid temps. No messing around with straps and buckles like other blankets. Room for the horse to move around in. The blanket comes down low and covers the bum well. Seems as if the blanket is almost indestructible! No seams to rib and has wither fleece to protect. I also got one with the neck cover as well that was good and fit well.
Dislikes: The blankets run LARGE. So I had to schlepp the blanket back and forth twice to get a good fit.
Quality: Very well made! The winters are pretty harsh here and the blanket made it through the winter in one piece. When I went to wash it, it still was fluffy and substantial unlike other blankets I have used. Like it so much, I bought two more at the stores Spring Sale. Used it on a rescue horse as well. Would highly suggest for anyone with horses in a cold climate!
Summary: Very nice blankets. It turned out to be REALLY water proof too! I bought the denim blue ones, but would like one of the plaid ones as well.
