Purchase: My farrier bought me a pair of the Boa Boots directly from the Manufacturer in Arizona for a foundered rescue PMU mare I took in last October. We were unable to put a shoe on her and needed a "boot" that we could put a therapeutic insert in that could be taken off easily in order to treat abscesses that come with founder.
Likes: They are very easy to put off and on. The little dial system is clever. The boot worked great when we put the inserts in and there is a lot of "grippy" traction on the bottom of the boots for snow and ice. The boots were just such a relief after having to DUCT TAPE on other shoes to help with the founder.
Dislikes: The silly little wires keep breaking and you need a major military block-of-instruction to replace the wire.
Quality: The boots are made well since they have been on the mare 24x7 for three months now. They only came off when the wire broke and they have withstood some climate changes.
Summary: I think these boots are a God-send for laminitic or foundered horses whose hooves' integrity is so bad that a shoe can not be nailed on. I have had no issues with the company....they have been very helpful when I had to send the boots back for THEM to replace the snapped wire! They clean up easily and are very, very easy to put on!
