Purchase: I bought this soaking boot from Valley Vet Supply and paid $36.00 for it. I needed a soaking boot to soak the front feet of a mare I had rescued who was abscessing from chronic laminitis. I was pretty much sick and tired of using buckets and the mess they were creating.
Likes: Well, let me see....uhm....aaagh....nothing really. The name, "Giddyap Girl" is somewhat catchy!
Dislikes: The boot would be great if you owned an elephant! It is waaay too large for a horse's foot. I ordered a product called Clean Trax and waited 10 days for it to get here. I followed the directions for the soaking boot to a "T" and the boot wouldn't stay on and the stuff spilled all over the place. We had to finally tie the boot on with baling twine and then duct tape it up on the leg. I could have bought baggies that would have done a better job!
Quality: It's well made....for an elephant shoe! There are little rubber nubbies on the bottom inside of the soaking boot which must feel good for a horse with a diseased foot. The velcro did not stick very well.
Summary: I can't ever see using these boots again for anything. They are too big to use and I probably should have sent the boot back....but I may just get a hippo or elephant someday and it might come in handy!
