Purchase: I bought the Princeton from the Beval store in New Jersey for $500.00. The reason I bought this saddle is that I just got my first horse and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a saddle.
Likes: I liked the fact that this saddle was very light and fit my horse well. It also has a nice close contact feel.
Dislikes: I found this saddle to have a VERY hard seat. If you like a seat that is so hard it is uncomfortable to sit in for an extended period of time, then you should buy this saddle. The other problem with this saddle was that the leather wears away very quickly. After 7 months of use, you can see where the stirrup leathers rubbed away at the original texture.
Quality: The quality of this saddle was pretty good. It seems to be well made and sturdy, but the seat is as hard as a rock.
Summary: All in all, I would not recommend anyone to purchase this saddle. The seat is way too hard and the leather wears away too fast. It's nice to look at, but it is not enjoyable to use. I wonder if my horse hated it as much as I do! With the reputation that Beval has, I would have expected a more comfortable ride.
