Purchase: I bought this saddle from a private dealer on ebay and paid $450.00. In tack shops, this particular model sells for anywhere from $900-1300.
Likes: This is truly the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden in. Everyone who I have let try it agrees with me- in fact, some people have mistaken it for an Antares! It is truly that nice.
The knee pads are like fluffy cushions, the seat is unbelievably soft and the leather quality is absolutely outstanding.
This is also an extremely atractive saddle. The color I have is "London", but I believe it is also available is "Newmarket".
Dislikes: The tree width. This has not correctly fit either of the two horses I tried it on. The tree only comes in one width (31 centimeters), and both of the wide backed quarter horse types I have tried it on had their withers and shoulders extremely pinched by it. I allowed friends to try it on their Thoroughbred-type horses and it pinched them as well (to a lesser degree). It may fit a very slim and narrow horse, but so far, I have found it to be much too narrow for any horse.
Quality: The overall quality of this saddle could not be any better if it had cost $3000. No detail has been spared- the leather is of the finest quality, the color is a gorgeous rich chestnut, and the construction is built to last. I have absolutely no complaints in this area.
Summary: This is a fantastic saddle in terms of rider comfort and overall quality. I have sat in much more expensive saddles that were not this nice and comfortable. However, the narrowness of the tree means that it just isn't a practical choice for the majority of riders.
