Manufacturer: Bona Allen
Model: Western Trail Saddle
Category: Trail Saddles
Purchase: I paid $250.00 for this saddle at an auction 10+ years ago. It was in excellent condition then.
Likes: It is a sturdy saddle. It has worn well. The tooling is beautiful, and held up well over time. The quilted seat has remained quilted. It's not terribly heavy. No stitching has come loose, etc.
Dislikes: The shorter rider, such as myself, has to raise the stirrups so far, and there are no holes for we "shorties". I'm 5'3". Then, there is so much leather left over, that goes on the outside of the fenders that stirrup hobbles have to be used with not much success. It looks "tacky" too.
Quality: It appears to be a well made saddle. It has held up very well. It is still very tight. The seat could use a little more cushion for me...
Summary: I would buy another Bona Allen saddle, if the stirrups/fender issue was different, which is probably is on newer models. It has held up well, and is beautifully tooled.
Usefulness Rating: 2.91667 out of 5.
