Purchase: I bought this product at State line tack. One gallon was priced just under $50. I bought it because I ran out of Repel-X and wanted to try an Absorbine product instead.
Likes: The smell is nice, as is the promise of sunscreen protection.
Dislikes: Pretty much everything else. I washed my horses before using just to make sure all other products were gone and all dirt. I dried them thoroughly and then applied the product as described. Instantly my horses were having problems with mosquitoes, biting and taking blood, and a couple of flies. So I applied more. I saw a couple of mosquitoes actually land where the product had wet the horse's skin and take blood! The mosquito was definitely not dead and stuck. I thought "well maybe it has to dry first". But when it dried, my horses were covered with mosquitoes again. I had NOT had that problem with the Farnam products and honestly (being a long time Absorbine product fan) I was shocked! this is an Absorbine product??
Quality: The product seems fine if you have a minimum of flies, no mosquitoes, and mainly want sunscreen (which I have yet to be able to judge).
Summary: $50 dollars wasted, a night worrying about my horses being covered with mosquitoes, and I'll never try the product again. It not only failed, but failed spectacularly.
