Purchase: I bought my senior event used off of Ebay for $440 including shipping--bargain of the century!
Likes: It's incredibly comfortable, and as durable as it gets. It seems to fit any horse you put it on...I have a medium tree 17", and with creative padding I can make it fit almost any horse. It stands up to riding in the rain, riding 4-5 horses a day, and requires very little in the way of care before it looks brand new again. I use mine for starting youngsters and hacking my competition horse.
Dislikes: Not great for jumping larger fences. It can be harder to get out of for the big stuff, but then it is an all purpose. I've also noticed that it tends to put my leg too far forward. For general hacking it's fine, and it's really secure for riding a horse you don't know, but it's not going to position you perfectly for jumping or flatwork.
Quality: Durable, easy to care for, and well made. Mine is an older version, before the leather change and addition of gullet change, and I prefer it to the newer ones. I expect it to last forever.
Summary: Good saddle when you need security or comfort. Not the best for advanced work--get yourself a discipline specific saddle.
