Purchase: Right now i have this stellar saddle out on a four day trial from Halls Saddlery and I have to return it today:( It cost $1795 to take out on a trial. I took the saddle out on trial because it was so balanced and for a little bit of fun because I usually ride in deeper AP saddles and this one was sooo different but offered so much stability.
Likes: We had a saddle fitting yesterday and I tried the Caprilli AP and other reputable brands like Prestige and Barnsby. After riding in this one in a different arena as well as my own, I absolutely fell in love with this saddle and i think my horse likes it too!
When riding, my legs stayed in position, my hands quieted and my heels dropped farther than I thought they would ever go(these are issues I have had from riding in many different saddles all my life and they are solved in one ride!). This saddle also really improved my seat because of the nice grippy leather and the adjustable knee rolls really helped quiet my leg. Another plus is the adjustable gullet system that allows for seasonal fluctuations in my horses weight and the CAIR panels.
Dislikes: Unfortunately, i fell in love with a pretty big price tag(for a teenager). I have shopped around on and off line and found VERY little price variation from $1795. That's about all.
Quality: When i first rode in it, the saddle squeaked but that might have been because it was new. the quality was very good and the leather was very supple but yet supportive when you rode.
Overall, this saddle had exceptional quality written all over it.
Summary: I would recommend this saddle to anyone looking for a well made, comfortable saddle for on the flat or over fences. it really is worth what you pay for it and it will more than pay for itself in comfort and good memories for you and your horse.
