Purchase: I had trouble finding a suitable saddle for my round, low withered Paso Peruano as they moved up his shoulders and created backpain. I decided to order a treeless saddle from 'Barefoot' in Germany via the net. This saddle weighs 3.5 kg, fits every horse, is very comfortable for horse and rider. I paid for fully mounted saddle incl. therapeutic pad ~ Au$1300.00

Likes: The weight, the smart look, the price, the workmanship, the freedom of movement, the close contact, the feel, the comfort, it does not move. My horse is much happier to be saddled up and to do low level dressage or go out on a trail, go over low jumps. I also ride my high withered Andalusian in the saddle, who is just as happy, moving forward freely, no pressure on the shoulders. It is developed by endurance riders and a horse physio who knows her stuff.
Dislikes: The saddle is made of high quality Nubuck leather, and color fades when kept in direct sunlight, leather treatment is as for suede. Leather wears quicker than traditional leather.
Quality: The saddle is treeless and upper material is Nubuck leather, bottom is synthetic fur.
This saddle is basically is highly sophisticated and well made barebackpad. It is fitted with stirrups or fenders and needs a therapeutic pad underneath which insures the horses spine stays clear of any pressure, that bodyweight is absorbed evenly and it also stops the saddle from moving. The saddle looks very smart and is well made.
Summary: Well I am so impressed with this versatile saddle that I approached 'Barefoot' to become their Australian distributer. Right now I am awaiting my first order from Germany and most of the saddles are sold already. Most of my friends want one because it is light weight, fits every horse, provides very close contact and loks great, and yes, it is affordable.
