Purchase: I purchased the Barrier Boot for around $30 from the Saddler of Orlando. Cowboy had just blown out an abscess, and they had pulled one of his front shoes so it could drain. My farrier gave me the OK to ride, but Cowboy was used to 2 shoes, and was off balance. I bought him the boot to even him out.
Likes: The boot made his feet the same height, and he was sound and happy to ride. I used this for a month, and it held up very, very well.
Dislikes: The boots are a little tricky to put on at first, they have to be very tight or the hoof will just come out of it when the horse walks.
Quality: I believe the boot is rubber, and it's easy to adjust once you get the hang of it. It stood up to trails, and a lot of arena work.
Summary: I doubt I'll have to buy another one -- but I'll use it on any horse missing a shoe!
