Purchase: I bought these online through State line Tack, at $130, for general utility wear.
Likes: The Nouvelle boots are nicely made for the money, and I really like the full leather linings. The linings, being smooth, make the boots much easier to get on and off, and they seem more comfortable on warm days. I enjoy the feel of a tall boot, and these seem to fit well and break in quickly, so I've worn them for everything from riding to mucking out. With Aquaseal conditioner on them they've stood up quite well to the elements. Recently, during some flooding, I had to help a friend get things out of her barn to higher ground, and I wore my Nouvelle boots in the water for about an hour and a half, going in almost to the tops. They finally seeped through, but kept me dry and comfy for most of the ordeal. And I looked good doing it, too!!
Dislikes: The Grippa soles track mud into the house, but on the other hand, they give just enough traction. All in all, they are just fine.
Quality: Good for the money, and they stand up to abuse well. I'm sure if I kept them out of the water more often, they'd be plenty good for show.
Summary: I wear these as utility boots, to keep my Petries for good occasions, but they'd make nice good-occasion boots too. To get fully lined boots for this price is a good deal, and I was very impressed that I could go wading in them and still end up with boots that look and feel good.
