Purchase: I purchased this item at the Tractor Supply Center mostly because it was locked in the clipper case. I was told because people were shoplifting it. Interesting. I believe I paid an unbelievable price of $16.00 for an 8 ounce bottle.
Likes: After using all detangler products on the market, I was blown over by the quality. This is a "clear" gel which is important to horse owners like me with gray to white animals. Not as thick as Cowboy Magic and the fragrance is wonderful. I use only what the bottle recommends and it's all I need for my TWH very thick and long tail. Does not leave a residue. Helps to lay down those fly away short hairs that no one likes to pull. Separates hair shafts for fuller softer look. Dirt does not stick as product absorbs quickly and doesn't lay on top. I only use it once a week. My horses are not barn kept yet mane and tails comb out easily without breakage and just enough natural hair shine. Moisturizes my hands at the same time.
Dislikes: Have only purchased one bottle and I am sure the price was higher than normal. Compares to price of most Cowboy Magic products. Haven't found it on a majority of horse tack website's. Hopefully that will change in the future. This is by far the best mane and tail moisturizer on the market today. If this is not a new product I am amazed it's not more widely available.
Quality: Small clear 8 oz plastic bottle with one finger pop open lid. Does not break or leak when my horse knocks it off the stall door.
Summary: You must try it yourself. I had trouble with my old mare's urine soaked white tail. Had given up trying to keep up with it due to the thickness and natural curliness of her hair shafts. Without washing first, I used this product and was able to comb through easily with no breakage. Three days later her tail looks great. Applied it directly to my pony's tail bone and he has stopped rubbing. Only product I've found to stop his tail itch and I've used them all, including home remedies.
