Purchase: I purchased the first one at Dominion Saddlery several years ago for $5-$6 (large size) to massage the horse before and after riding. I stopped riding for a few years (L.A. isn't known for their stables), and upon getting a horse it was the first grooming tool I bought, (from Big D's,about $4 for the small one.)
Likes: It is hands-down the best grooming tool I've ever used. WAY better than rubber currys (and plastic ones are practically useless.) I discovered this after I curryed and brushed the horse as thoroughly as possible (with a round rubber curry.) I decided to try out the Grooma, and was amazed at how much more dirt and hair came off! When shedding season came, I was blissfully pleased by it's abilities (ok, maybe part of it was caused by sheer exhaustion from the seemingly limitless amount of hair coming off-but only took half an eternity with the Grooma, lol.) I have small hands, so I got the smaller one this time. It fits quite well. I used it on several horses, and they seemed to enjoy it-although I wish they could express it in ways other than flatulance, LOL!
Dislikes: The large one was pretty awkward, I have small hands.
Quality: It's made of little rubber cones, and seems pretty durable. It's shaped to fit the hand, with indentations for the fingers.
Summary: The Grooma is one of the best products I've used. It cleans exceptionally well, and massages the horse at the same time.
