Purchase: I bought this bit online at JohnLyons.com. I paid 29.99 for it plus shipping. It was advertised very well on his training videos.
It was advertised as a gentle bit and no curb chain needed.
Likes: Nothing.
Dislikes: The bit is really big, thick and heavy. My horse would hit the ceiling when I put it in her mouth. She would throw her head, pull at the bit and chew constantly. After about a week I couldn't even take the bridle off the hook without her getting upset so I got rid of it. The vet came out and checked her mouth and nothing was wrong so I'm certain it was the bit.
Quality: It looks like it is very durable!
Summary: I was not very happy with this particular bit. I've used it in three horses so far and all have given me the same reaction. I finally changed to a Myler comfort snaffle and that works beautifully.
