Purchase: These boots were about $170 at Equestrian Tack.com, bought as a general all around boot.
Likes: The Mountain Horse boots feel ALMOST as comfy as sneakers, and are actually easier to get in and out of due to the full rear zipper. The leather is soft and there was very little breaking in time. They are quite waterproof....as long as you don't go in over the zipper...and even when I did (falling into some thigh deep water),they dried out quickly and seemed none the worse for the soaking. I also love wearing them shopping on days when the weather is wet or snowy.
Dislikes: They look a bit utilitarian but I guess I can't hold that against them because they are.
Quality: I thought the construction looked pretty good, and they feel good inside...no rubbing seams etc.
Summary: These are a good compromise between utility boots, and a good tall comfy riding boot. No, they aren't Petries or Cavallos, but I don't have to worry so much about getting these soaking wet or muddy as I would with my "nice" boots.
