Purchase: Adams horse supplies, june 2004, $35. I wanted black leathers to go with my black saddle. Webbers dont buckle so there isn't a lump under your leg. They loop through your stirrup, then a tab fits in a slot,turns, and secures the loop. At the top, a small, well sewn, loop fits on the stirrup bar.
Likes: these are really easy to adjust, you dont have to pull on the leather to get to a buckle. turn the tab, adjust, insert the tab and turn to secure. It is SO nice not to have a lump. these dont stretch at all. are synthetic, so no rain worries. the tab end lies really flat against the leg.
Dislikes: They squeak. It may be psycological, but I didn't feel very secure in them. Length felt "funny." First try was too short. Lengthing one hole made them too long. (1" spacing). Very hard to understand the instructions to attach the stirrups, no words, only pictures. It took me half an hour-and I had to ask for help! I ended up going back to my leather leathers with 1/2" hole adjustments. Now I have a bump.
Quality: there isnt much to these. 24" long, loop at one end, T shaped tab (acutally H shaped) at the other, a 1/2" rubber loop thingie to cover the tab, thin synthetic overlay. Nylon web core-hence webbers. oval holes for tabs. quadruple stitched. loop for stirrup bar is really well stitched. but the synthetic has wrinkled where it was bent.
Summary: I guess I'm more traditional than I thought. I feel much more secure with seeing two pieces of leather attached to my saddle.
