Purchase: I bought a tack store in the Lower Mainland of BC and paid $125 for the pair.
Likes: I like the concept of the inner sole have a horse shoe like elevation of 0.6mm to provide sole relief which would be good for flat footed horses.
Dislikes: The boot is stiff leather with a front opening which seemed ideal at first. Leather is too stiff to tighten properly. My horses have worn Old Mac Boots for years with no problem in getting correct fit. With the Simple Boots, the boots twisted due to being too wide. I tried three sizes on one horse and I am experienced in messuring correctly. No boots fitted without twisting other than the smallest size which was too short and rubbed at the heel bulb. I bought the gaiters with them and they are hopeless. You pull the gaiter over the foot and then down around the ankle and heel bulb. When you shove in the foot, the gaiter pulls up and doesn't stay in the boot--negating the purpose of protecting the heel bulb. They aren't advertising the fact that they have redesigned the gaiters and are still selling the poorly designed ones. The tightened straps fit into keepers. The keepers are not attached to the boots and fall off and are difficult to find due to them being black.
Quality: Construction appears good as does quality.
Summary: A very frustrating experience in trying these boots. I returned all three pairs, but had to keep the gaiters because they were soiled. I would not recommend them. I will be buying the G2 Old Mac Boots. First generation of Old Mac's have served our horses well for the past six years. I think Simple Boots are a good concept with design flaws. I would wait to buy until they get the bugs out of the design.
