Purchase: I purchased this saddle new, online for $1760 through Enlightened Equitation
Likes: This is a semi-treeless saddle I acquired to fit a very wide and still growing gelding. I can ride practically any horse in this saddle, except for perhaps ones with "shark withers" but there's a special pad available for such horses with this saddle.
I am comfortable and secure, with a superior stirrup placement as compared to most saddles available. This saddle also stays put on the horse and does not shift at all, unlike a popular treeless saddle that's available.
Dislikes: The appearance is a bit "odd" until you sit in it and it settles onto the horse. Then it looks like a traditional saddle.
Quality: Very well constructed with straight stitching and well finished edges. The seat is covered in a soft/sticky French leather, and I ordered the butt leather flaps as I like to have freedom to swing my legs a bit and not be glued to the saddle.
Treeless and semi-treeless saddles have little inside to maintain their shape, so it's difficult to make them look "finished" but this one, once you are aboard, looks very nice.
Summary: For anyone who needs a saddle that goes on several horses that is comfortable and secure, I would recommend this saddle. It's also nice enough to compete with, and I hear someone will be riding in one at WEG 2006.
