Purchase: I got this saddle used (slightly, it seems!) at a used tack shop. It looks like new, but the best part is that it's already broken in. I paid $375, which is a STEAL, as new ones cost $1500+.
Likes: Everything! It is so comfortable! I love the suede panels - it feels great. My legs don't hurt like the do from other leather saddles. The seat is deep, and it makes me feel secure. That's great, especially as this is my first "real" english saddle. I rode a Tennessee Walking Horse in this saddle, which isn't very common where I live, and it was the most comfortable ride (the horse didn't make it comfortable - the saddle did!)
Dislikes: The only complaint I have is that my saddle pad isn't quite big enough. I'm not sure if it's the saddle or the pad, so the pad is probably actually too small.
Quality: Perfect quality. No scratches, nicks, rips, etc. It's probably the best deal I'll ever get. I saved over $1000!
Summary: This is probably the greatest saddle. I think Courbette is a great quality company - better than any synthetic saddle companies. Synthetic saddles don't give you grip like leather ones. The moment you start sweating on synthetic ones, I've found you lose grip and are at risk of falling.
